its always struck me

its always struck me dat sumhow we always end up watching classic old films made by hollywood rather than go into our own history n watch classics of our own time... we watch movies like the godfather, goodfellas, pulp fiction, the shining, n sing praises of martin scorcese, stanley kubrick, francis ford coppolla, but how many of us has watched the films of satyajit ray? shyam benegal? rituparno ghosh? mani ratnams old tamil classic nayakan?

did u kno dat nayakan is 1 of only 2 or 3 films included by the time magazine in its 100 best films ever?? how many of us has seen it? how many have seen 'the terrorrist'? the last lear? raincoat? salaam bombay? pyaasa?

its just weird isnt it? theres a whole glut of classic bollywood films dat we avnt even thot existed.. i recently came across some of these titles on wikipedia... n it got me thinking... its always the firangs who end up watching these classics n usually praise em n we end up not even knowing abt such films... hehe just symbolizes d state of mind of the indian audience doesnt it?!

even i avent seen ppl...  but i do feel like now.. iv just downloaded the last lear... rituparno ghosh.. reviews of age old gems from india coming up ppl...

just think abt it... tc.. biii

av u eva had the feeling

av u eva had the feeling of xtreme restlessness n at d same time not wantin to do nething in particular? just bored out of ur skin yet not knowing wht to do? well, im feelin dat ryt now. 4 :15 am, staring at my computer screen... nuthin to do... av bn feelin this since nearly 2 days... just watched Dial M for Murder, hitchcock. my first hitchcock movie. din like it too much.. it was ok... murder mystery type... was hopin for better... hate this feeling... i guess thz r the times whn i grapple n fyt with depression... sort of...

just remembered sumthin dat d psychiatry guy had said during 1 of d mle lectures... depression is not a feeling of xtreme sadness or grief... its actualli a feeling of NUMBNESS... not avin d capacity to feel... its almost like lookin at things from a 3rd person angle... not feelin them as if things were happenin to u... its like uv stepped out of ur own body n r lukin at urself ... yeah yeah .. i kno ... dats d definition of 'depersonalization'... psychiataric term ...

its not like i cant go out n av fun n function wid oders when i get into 1 of thz moods... i did go out last nyt with frenz... had few laffs n evn cracked a couple of jokes myself... i can ... but thrs always tht feelin inside tht sumthins not ryt... sumthins amiss... perhaps emptiness... earlier i wudnt av bn able to... i guess as u grow older u become better n better at hiding ur feelings...

now guys plz dont start calling me whn u read this... i usualli like to be alone whn im in thz moods.. tc ppl... i kno it must nt av bn fun to read this... sry... bii..

some movies dat iv seen recently

Hello ppl. Just watched inception for d second time last nyt with my sis n cousin. Still cant get over it man. Just d scope of d movie and its execution with all its complexity. What impressed me d most was dat d movie was as intellectually satisfying as it was emotionally. I think very few movies are there which mange to do that.
If i ever come across christopher nolan ill touch his feet! Every movie hez directed is a classic. I dont know if you av heard of 'The Prestige', even that was an amazing movie directed by him, although not as popular as the batman series.
Just thot id share with u some titles which iv seen recently which i liked.
- the hurt locker

- watching the detectives (this is 1 of those TV movies which are actualli quite good, it has cillian murphy n lucy liu in it, liu is lukin quite hot in it, anyway back to the movie, its about this absolutely wild girl who keeps doing these crazy things just to entertain herself and then gets cillian into trouble all the time coz of it, d basic philosophy behind her life is dat she neva watches TV, instead she prefers DOING what she wud njoi seeing on TV! fascinating)

- she's the man (1 of d best n funniest teen movies ever)

- strange wilderness (another TV movie which was quite funny)

- pirates of silicon valley (this 1s realli good.. n a lot of fun... it traces the initial years of d computer industry n how it started... focusing on how microsoft n apple began n how bill gates n steve jobs fought with each other! n its v accurate in its representation of these ppl... just chek it out on wikipedia.. esp ppl who have an interest in computers will love this 1)

so catch these if u can.. bii

hey ppl this is for all those brave souls givin pg entrance in india.. or for dat matter in d world... hope u find it useful guys.

1)this is a chart of everything that causes Ach to go up or go down... i always used to get confused with these... its pretty simple now dat iv drawn this... for almost evrythin dats up.. tretment is atropine.. and for everything dats down.. treatment is neostigmine or physostigmine...Note:- add TCA(tricyclic antidepressents) and anti-histamines and anti-pshychotics to d below list... thz commonly av anticholinergic side effects.

2)this is a misc chart... on d top is a strip of numbers with chr of common diseases... i could never remember numbers... the trick is to make it visual like the strip... this trick was given by d fmt proff i had in DAMS..on d ryt is a list of diseases .. all of them av d theme dat they r d same diseases just acquired and congenital forms of d disease... on d left is d list of drugs which r used in prophylaxis of certain diseases... we often get questions like... all of the following can be used in an ACUTE attack of _____ except... thz drugs wud be the answers... coz they r not used acutely... they r for chr. prophylaxis.

3)this is d ortho man! all named soft tissue swellings r here... the arrows indicate the bones where Avascular necrosis occurs... v common questions... 1)head of femur 2)body of talus 3)scaphoid proximal part... in all cases blood supply goes from distal to proximal part...IOC (inv. of choice) for AVN is MRI.

4)this is all the vesicuolbullous diseases of skin. most questions on it come asking what layer of the skin is involved and at what level did the split occur.. 1st column is the most superficial with the most flaccid bullae in the subepidermal layer of skin.. 2nd level is the 2nd most sup with more tense bullae and the level of split is suprabasal... 3rd column is the most deep with the most tense bullae and the level of plit is dermo-epidermal junction
